Not a budget tracker. A spending coach.

Nearly two-thirds of Americans live paycheck to paycheck.

Everyday costs keep climbing. When money is tight, it's the small, unconscious spending that adds up faster than we'd think. A coffee here, a quick lunch there. By the time we notice, we typically rely on debt because our money has run out.

SpotFunds is the coach who notices first.

Always with you. Knows you. Speaks before you spend.

iPhone Lock Screen with one SpotFunds Coach notification: Weekend is tomorrow. Eating Out typically runs $48 on weekends — your ready-to-spend is $22.40.

The question isn't what you spent, or how much money you have.

It's whether you can go out Friday & still have enough money to last before payday.

THE CORE CONCEPT

Pace your spending

Ready-to-Spend® isn't your bank balance, or even a pace balance. It's how much you can safely spend today and still make it to your next payday without stretching.

You set the goal — the most you want to spend on coffee, eating out, groceries, whatever you actually spend on — each pay cycle. SpotFunds sets the pace, adjusts it as you spend and the days go by, and coaches you to payday without going past your goal.

SpotFunds calculates it in real time, per pace, based on where you are in your pay cycle. No guessing. No mental math.

REHEARSE A SPEND

Try it before you spend it.

Thinking about buying lunch? Tap and see what lunch does to your pace — before you commit, not after.

What if I spent…

This is a live version of the card that greets you on Today when you're getting started. Once you're logging, ask your coach the same thing — "What if I spend $40?" — and the numbers are yours.

Nothing is saved. You're just asking the coach for help with your plans.

PROACTIVE COACHING

A coach that speaks up before you spend — not after.

SpotFunds learns your rhythms: the Friday coffee run, the weekend dining habit, the Tuesday grocery trip. Then it gets ahead of them — telling you what a day tends to cost you before you're standing in line.

Spending faster than usual? It'll tell you. Pulled back after a rough stretch? It notices. And a day you spent nothing counts as a win, not a gap.

"Weekend is tomorrow. Eating Out typically runs $48 on weekends — your ready-to-spend is $22.40."
"Coffee tends to run higher on Friday mornings — historically around $12. Worth keeping in mind today."
"Happy Hour is back to green. Solid recovery."
"No spending across any paces yesterday. Those rest days add up!"

ASK YOUR COACH

…and answers when you ask.

Your coach already knows your paces, your cycle, and your patterns. Now you can just ask — in plain language, the way you'd ask a friend who happens to be good with money.

Can I get lunch today?
Your Eating Out pace is $34.07 today, which is green and covers a typical $18.90 lunch. That leaves $55.50 remaining in the $150.00 budget before the cycle resets on Sep 14.
What about coffee?
Your Coffee pace is $2.86 today, which is yellow because it’s below the typical $6.29 purchase. You have $8.57 left in the $40.00 budget, and the pace would recover in 1 day before resetting on Sep 14.
SpotFunds coach chat on iPhone. Asked “Can I get lunch today?” the coach answers with the Eating Out pace and what a typical lunch costs; asked “What about coffee?” it explains the Coffee pace is yellow and would recover in a day.

On the latest iPhone software, your coach can borrow Apple's private cloud for a moment to work out an answer. Only your question and the few facts needed to answer it are sent. The answer comes back, and nothing is stored along the way — not by us, and not by Apple, who designed that cloud so that not even Apple can see inside it. Your location is never sent.

ALWAYS NEARBY

Your coach, wherever you already are.

Don't even open the app.

Pull down on your Home Screen and type "coffee." Your pace, the spots you go to, and the days you were actually there — findable the same way you find everything else on your iPhone.

Siri

Just ask. And tell.

Check your spending pace or log a purchase without even opening the app. SpotFunds works with Siri so your coach is always nearby.

Plan ahead
"Siri, ask SpotFunds if I can go to dinner this weekend."
"Your Eating Out pace is tight right now, but if you hold off until Saturday, you'll have $34.20 to work with. Two rest days does the trick."
Log a purchase
"Siri, tell SpotFunds to add an activity"
"Is this for Starbucks on 3rd Ave?"
"Yes"
"How much?"
"Six dollars and 49 cents"
"Done. $6.49 added to Coffee."
Affordability check
"Siri, ask SpotFunds if I can go to lunch"
"Your Eating Out pace is running a little fast. Waiting until Thursday would make that an easier call."
Widgets

Glance and go — at your desk, too.

100% Private.

Your purchases, your places, and your patterns are stored on your iPhone and nowhere else.

When you ask your coach a question on the latest iPhone software, it can borrow Apple's private cloud for a moment to work out the answer. Your question and the few facts it needs — a pace, a place, a purchase — are sent, the answer comes back, and nothing is kept. Apple built it so that no one, not even Apple, can look at your data. Your location never leaves the device.

Everything else — your coaching, your pacing, your search — happens right on your iPhone.

No cloud sync No analytics with transaction details No spending data stored off-device

Your money is your business. SpotFunds is built to keep it that way.

Questions

Is SpotFunds free?
Yes — and setting paces, logging what you spend, and Ready-to-Spend® always will be. A paid option is coming for people who want the coach to see more of their spending; we'll say what's in it when it's ready.
Does it connect to my bank?
No, and it doesn't need to. You log what you spend — that small pause is where the awareness happens — and your coach learns your rhythm from there. But watch this space: something's coming that gives your coach a fuller picture of your spending on its own — no passwords to hand over, and no third party in the middle.
What data do you collect?
Your spending data stays on your iPhone. SpotFunds collects only anonymous, behavior-level analytics: things like which screens are visited and how often a feature is used. No transaction amounts, merchant names, location coordinates, or financial data ever leaves your device.
How is this different from a budget app?
Most money apps are very good at telling you where your money went. Past tense. SpotFunds is proactive and tells you what you can spend. You set the goal — the most you want to spend — and your coach sets the pace to get you there.
Does the coach send anything off my phone?
Only when you ask it a question, and only on the latest iPhone software. To work out an answer, your coach can borrow Apple's private cloud (Apple calls it Private Cloud Compute) for a moment: your question and the few facts it needs — a pace, a place, a purchase — are sent, the answer comes back, and nothing is kept. Apple built it so that no one, not even Apple, can look inside. Your location is never sent. Everything else your coach does — SpotCheck, learning your patterns, search, pacing — happens entirely on your iPhone.
